Sweet kitty❣️ Your cat needs to hear your Voice so they know it’s safe to come out of hiding. Especially in this extremely hot weather, he will definitely be hiding in a cooler place, like under bushes, or anywhere that is shaded, where he’s well hidden. Leave several water bowls outside of your house for him to drink when he shows up. Animals can become dehydrated quickly in this weather. You really need to walk around your yard and around your street several times a day calling him. He will be hiding. Ask your neighbors if you can look around their yard and call him. It’s Very Important that He Hears Your Voice to know that you are nearby, and in order to help him find his way home. He can smell your scent and find his way home. Keep your garage door cracked open 6 inches all the time, day and night. He needs a safe place at home to hide if he returns. He is likely hiding very close by. Cats don’t usually wander more than 4 to 5 houses away. Search around Dawn and Dusk also, because he will be less afraid to come out when it’s darker. Take a flashlight. Leave some of your unwashed clothing outside because cats find their way home by recognizing familiar scents. There are coyotes all over the this area and they come into many neighborhoods at night, searching for cats and other small animals. So don’t wait to go out searching for him! So many people here lose their cats. Make flyers with his photo and contact information and give them to as many neighbors as possible. Post him on Nextdoor, the neighborhood app. Put an AirTag on his collar so you can locate him if lost. Have him microchipped. Don’t give up searching. He’s scared and is very likely hiding nearby. Spread some used litter around the house and yard area Look for her late at night and early in the morning when it is dark and quiet Use a flashlight to see her eyes Probably close by and hiding Keep calling kitty kitty calls and meow sounds Don't give up
