Please help me find Tink. He was my late Mother's cat. He darted out the front door on 8/11 & has not been seen since. I am worried sick.

Thank you all for the tips. He is an inside cat, that goes out on a leash. On this particular morning, he was super persistent to go out. I guess we were taking too long & he decided to bolt out the door when the dogs were coming back inside. We have not seen him since. With him having gone out on a leash for years, didn't expect him to just vanish. His litter boxes, water & a couple of my articles are outside. Food is difficult because of the dogs (who absolutely love his food & treats) & heat during the day & raccoons & skunks at night. I walked our 3 acres yesterday in the 100° heat twice calling for him. I've lost my voice, got eaten alive by bugs & def have heat exhaustion. Drove around the area & spoke with animal control & put up trail cams. Just trying to stay hopeful. I don't know what else to do at this point. To know so many other people care, is deeply appreciated. Thank you all 🧡

Lost Cat tips Please do the following things. Put all of these items OUTSIDE: 1. His or her litter box (used/dirty). 2. Wet, smelly canned cat food or tuna or sardines and also water. 3. A piece of your "worn" clothing with your scent. 4. Your kitty's bed or blanket with their scent. Probably hasn’t gone far and may come around at night. If your kitty is normally an INSIDE cat, then he/she is likely VERY CLOSE to your home. Indoor cats usually find a hiding spot very close by. Check under yours and your neighbors decks, bushes, wood piles and sheds. The BEST time to find them is at night with a flashlight and their eyes will "glow" back at you. Your kitty is so scared, he/she might not respond to you calling them, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find them. 5. If he/she is microchipped, call the microchip company and make sure your contact information is correct 6. Hang lost cat signs with REWARD clearly written on them. Also hand them out to all your neighbors. 7. Call your local police and report him/her as missing 8. Post in the Lost and Found section and Pets section in Craigslist. 9. Check www.petharbor.com. This website provides found cats that are currently at Animal Control, the Humane Society and the APA. The website updates throughout the day so check back often. ALSO, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SEARCH EVERY SHELTER AVAILABLE IN THE LIST BY DATE, DO NOT SEARCH BY BREED OR SHELTER. Be sure to check the FOUND BY PUBLIC section as well. 10. Share in your www.nextdoor.com group. 11. Visit your local shelters in plerson, do not call and ask if your cat is there. The people who work there makes mistakes all the time. They even make mistakes on the and miss the micro-chip, so be sure to check the shelter in person 12. Share on your local buy sell trade Facebook pages 13. Tell your local mail in carrier to watch out for him/her 14. If you have a garage, leave your garage door open a little or put out a box or plastic tote with blankets for shelter in case he/she comes back at night

If your cat is an indoor cat, it will be scared and won’t come when called. Try placing their used litter outside. At night, use a flashlight to check under your and your neighbors' bushes and decks for the reflection of your cat's eyes. ‼️Additionally, consider setting up a humane trap as soon as possible, as it's one of the most effective methods for finding lost cats ‼️. You can bait the trap with strong-smelling sardines. These traps can be purchased at local hardware stores or borrowed from animal shelters. While this approach might seem drastic, remember that lost pets often enter survival mode and behave differently. Be sure to research how to use a humane trap effectively. Make sure to visit local animal shelters in person and look for your missing kitty, and post flyers within a one-mile radius of where your kitty went missing. There are also many valuable resources available online if you search for "how to find your missing cat." Important Note: Be cautious of scåmmers who may claim they have found your cat or offer drøne services. It's best not to engage with them. 🙏🏻❤️
