Message from Owner

🚨 MISSING CAT – HAMMONDS PLAINS 🚨 Our sweet boy got out yesterday evening and hasn’t come home. He normally comes home early every morning for breakfast, but he didn’t return at all today, which is very unlike him. We’ve been out calling for him, shaking treats and searching around the neighbourhood with no sign of him. About him: 🐾 2-year-old neutered male 🐾 Long grey hair 🐾 Maine Coon / Norwegian Forest Cat / tabby mix 🐾 Very affectionate and loves people 🐾 VERY food motivated 🐾 Has a metal pin in one of his legs from surgery for a broken leg when he was a kitten 🐾 Not microchipped yet He is a rescue and still has a little bit of feral in him. We’ve tried very hard to make him an indoor-only cat, but he had other ideas and is used to spending some time outside. He always comes home, though, which is why we are so worried. He is incredibly loved and very missed. 💔 We just want our boy home safe. If you see him — even if you aren’t able to catch him — please, please let me know where and when you saw him. Any sighting could help us figure out where he is. Please keep an eye on sheds, garages, under decks and anywhere he may have gotten unexpectedly shut in or taken shelter. Thank you so much for keeping an eye out for him. ❤️🐾

Tips - Borrowed from another: These tips have been proven time and time again to work, please take the time to do them, it all helps! And it's important to do them as soon as possible. Good luck! (Admin) 🗞 POSTERS/FLIERS HAVE PROVEN TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND YOU NEED TO START ASAP GOING DOOR TO DOOR AND HANDING THEM OUT! ***POSTERS, POSTERS, POSTERS ARE KEY!!!***** 🗣Go talk to your neighbors and surrounding areas and hand out posters. Talk to people on the street. You will be surprised at how helpful they will be! If no one is home, put the poster in the mailbox. Put posters on poles, vet offices, corner stores, grocery stores, etc. And check around restaurants and such where there may be a food source. 👚🍗Put a piece of clothing or blanket with the scent of the person he likes most with some food and water outside in a sheltered area. It is advised by experts to not use litterboxes any more as the scent also attracts predators and other cats which can actually keep your cat from returning. 🗣It is best to call for kitty late at night or early morning as they will usually hide during the day. 🔦Search low to the ground and under every nook and cranny or hole that a cat can climb in or get under. Chances are, your kitty may still be very close, they usually will not travel very far. Get a good bright flashlight! 🆘️ Ask your neighbors to check their sheds, baby barns and garages as soon as possible as kitty may have been locked inside. 🚪🪟Cats are very territorial, if possible, leave a window or door open. Many have returned and ran back in the house on their own. ☎️ Call your local vets to see if a cat matching this description has been brought in there & call the local SPCA and better yet, bring a picture in to those places. 🆘️Ask around for any "CAT PEOPLE" in your area...they know and see all concerning kitties! 🦞 If there are lobster traps in the area, please check them. There has been numerous cats trapped in those recently! ❤️🐾❤️Most importantly, DO NOT GIVE UP!!! THEY NEED YOU!!! ❤️🐾❤️ Some of these tips will help you find your indoor/outdoor kitty too 🙏🏻 I believe the SPCA rents live traps…

Can you add more details about where in Hammonds Plains, it's a big place and covers Kingswood, Voyageur, Glen Arbor, White Plains, right down to Tantallon. Go door to door in your area and put up posters everywhere, go further afield too. We recently had an indoor kitty found in Bedford who had been missing for 8 days, she was found 100 houses away! . Call 311 to make a lost cat report and check at the SPCA and Bide Awhile. Get him chipped when you find him! Good luck!

Street near which cross St. Or landmark? Indoor only escaped cats usually hide 2-5 house radius under decks, sheds daytime, coming out at night to try to get back in. Please also post on Nova Scotia Lost Cat Network and The WatchCats LOST AND FOUND CATS SACKVILLE AND BEDFORD AREA

Please be as specific as possible as to location. Hammonds Plains covers a big area. Try putting up lots of posters around the neighbourhood and in stores nearby. It worked quickly for me. Not everyone is on Facebook or checks it regularly Good luck. Shared
