~ MISSING KITTEN! Our beloved tuxedo kitten, Emy, hasn't been since late Sat. night (11/29) - and we are distraught! (Esp. since we saw two coyotes roaming nearby streets while out looking for him the first night he was missing! We live on Kirk Rd at Forman Ave.) He was wearing a yellow breakaway collar, but he often pulls it off. He's about 7-8 months old, and is the SWEETEST cat ever!! He responds to his name or "pretty kitty." PLEASE call/text/msg if you might have seen him! . Thx ~carey p s. - we have ANOTHER tuxedo cat named Lily, and they look a lot alike! But Lily has one clipped ear and wears a pink collar!

~ Emy is sadly *still* missing (as of late on 12/5). And to top it off - I just had the MOST AWFUL experience: a man called saying he worked at the Humane Society, and that Emy had been brought in tonight w/injuries from being hit by a car - and that the vet on-site wanted to do an emergency surgery to re-align his shoulder. (And b/c of my various posts and my husband's visit to the shelter and leaving a flyer, I figured that's how they got my number.) The man knew Emy's name and was able to describe him very well, and then he wanted me to authorize the surgery and gave me a reference number ... I asked to sign papers in person, he said they could be emailed. But only when I pushed to see Emy in person before the surgery did I understand something was very off -- he said he'd have to get special permission from the vet just to *email* me a current photo! So then I demanded to know where he was located, and the line just went dead. What an AWFUL person to try to exploit a distraught pet parent like this. :(

Most indoor cats will stay very close to home, but they will go into hiding because they go into survival mode, especially during the day. If it’s at all possible for you to put some recently worn clothing, bedding, a cat tree, if your cat has one near a open door window or garage where the cat will have access to return home, they usually will do it between midnight and 3 AM in the morning. Do not put a litter box out because that will attract other predators such as coyotes, raccoons, skunks, etc. At night time, you can also take a flashlight looking under cars in trees and bushes Taking with you a bag of treats if your cat is treat motivated, calling its name softly staying low to the ground, shaking the bag and using the flashlight to possibly light up your cats eyes. Sometimes they can stay in hiding for days so don’t give up. Hope these tips help and that you’re beautiful. Cat returns home safely and soon🙏🐈‍⬛❤️ don’t give up sometimes they can stay in hiding for over a week until they get really hungry, especially when a lot of commotion is going on during the daytime
