Tiff Charise It absolutely is true. I work for a vet for years. Ask your vet or google it. If its just for show than no problem but if your going to put a leash attached to it, its a big problem. Its puts too much pressure on the trachea. These small dogs are already predisposed to trachea collapse. The rings in the cartilage are normally weaker and putting pressure on it will make it worse. You should ALWAYS use a harness on small or toy dog breeds

Michelle Gallagher You have no idea what that dog looked like prior t o him going missing 🤦🏽‍♀️ Comment above said he was missing for almost 2 yrs, you clearly have never had long haired dogs my yorkie will go in our wood in the backyard and come back looking like this dog in a matter of 2 mins 😂 Long haired dogs matt up quick and him being gone that long im shocked he doesn't look worse tbh

Renee Caciopoli that isn't true at all small dogs can most definitely wear collars idk where you got that nonsense from but it's not true, collars can be adjusted to how tight or loose they can be for a reason bc dogs necks can be different sizes. My yorkie always slips his collar off but he still has one and clearly wears one when we go for walks bc of the leash

Steve Clobridge you sound stupid asf & just bc he didn't have a collar on doesn't mean he doesn't have one dogs slip out their collars all the time and the dog being found in the area doesn't mean they didn't try looking for him if someone had him and wanted to keep him they wouldn't necessarily give him back dummy. Nothing you even said backs up your ifnorant statement, sometimes dogs run off that doesn't mean the person is a bad pet owner your comment was really uncalled for
