Jacqlyne Burrell stfu how you know he was abused? He's been missing for a whole year that's why he looks like that you don't know about this dog or his care prior to him going missing dumb ass they clearly said he ran off when they let him out dumb ass .

Gail Heath Jackson DON'T TELL SOMEONE WHEN, WHERE, AND HO WE THEY CAN LEAVE THEIR DOG UNATTENDED!!! You don't know what kind of care they provided for the dog prior to him going missing, weird asf to ask them to brush the dog and cut his hair as if they are not going to do it, why would they leave their dog dirty and matted after it's been missing? The dog was MISSING that's why his hair is like that duhh that is basic common sense and if you knew anything you would know these dogs hair grows fast and gets matted rather quickly. My yorkie gets brushed daily and he literally ALWAYS has tangles like he didn't just get brushed the day before. Also, you don't even know how long he was left unattended for, maybe they let him out and ran to the bathroom real quick, or were washing dishes, doing laundry they could've been in the backyard or the garage etc. etc. You don't know where they live, if their yard is fenced in or not and most people aren't going to sit there and watch their dog sniff every grain of grass to go potty everytime they let them out to use the bathroom everything you said was literal common sense and also was NOT YOUR BUSINESS. Nothing is more annoying then a person who gives "UNSOLICITED advice or tips." He did not ask you for any of the information you provided and he also didn't say anything that implied he doesn't/isn't going to do the basic common sense things you stated for him to do.

Kelly Sheppard I have a chihuahua and I never put a collar on either. The smaller breeds are not supposed to wear collars because of the trachea issues.

As a Rescue Director, I have helped both Poms AND Long-Haired Chihuahuas to the safety and protection of my group. That first photo of dog shown looks more like a Long-Haired Chihuahua to me. If so, that dog will tell us if he recognizes his family. Chihuahuas bond strong with "their person." He might be old; he might be in rough shape. But a Chihuahua won't ever forget his person. Let's see what the dog says! If he turns out to be no one's dog, he is welcome here with us at Schultz Senior Dachshund Sanctuary of NJ (we help other breeds as well). He will get the care he needs. Sent in memory of our beloved Long-Haired Chihuahua Pepper, who passed a few months ago.....

Maybe this dog was not taken care of and that's why it is in this condition. I would let animal control get involved
