Description

It's a gray tabby cat with soft, faded black stripes, long ears, and a small face. It seemed female but its fur was on the floofier side and it was night, so I couldn't tell for sure. It seemed confused and lost, but accepted wet food & water, and was very friendly to humans. Judging by how friendly it was to humans (and how eagerly it darted into my neighbors' hse), I am certain it was not feral, just a lost pet, but unfortunately none of my neighbors recognized it. It was very chatty, meowing whenever it wanted something from me or was anxious, and it seemed comforted to be pet and hear my voice.

Message from Finder

Does anyone recognize this sweet baby? I found it crying under a car and spent about an hour playing with it, feeding it, and trying to make it comfortable around my backyard instead of out in the street. It had the sweetest, softest meow I've ever heard, but seemed very sad and confused. Judging by how easily it warmed up to me and purred when I pet it, I do not believe it is a feral animal, just a lost pet. All the hses here look the same, so I can see how it might've gotten turned-around if it escaped. If I were able, I would take it to a shelter or adopt it as my own, since it seemed so distressed living outdoors. Unfortunately that is against my HOA's rules. For now, we've left some cat food and water for it in our backyard, and if I see it again this week, I will try taking it to a shelter to scan its microchip. My neighbors should now be aware of a missing cat and will hopefully have the foresight to check under their cars before turning the engine on! Still, I worry for this sweet boi. These roads are dangerous, and coyotes live in the fields nearby. I pray that someday it can be reunited with its humans soon and spend every night lounging in a safe home!l

Put a post on the neighborhood Nextdoor maybe someone will recognize it and know who the owner is. Put some found cat signs in your neighborhood and make sure the person claiming the cat has proof of ownership. Probably someone's indoor/outdoor kitty that lives in the area. Please don't take to the overcrowded shelter it could be euthanized after the 3 day hold if not claimed by owner. Hope the owner is found soon 🙏
