Sue Stanley-Schaecher, not according to what I read. I found straw at JoAnne's Fabrics before Halloween a couple of years ago. Hay is not suitable as it is moist. Good luck & thank you for helping our fur friends! 😻

Karen Kish or in a closed container with a hole cut out, is a towel ok then, inside the container?

Karen Kish That’s why I said put under cover like a back porch. Wouldn’t that be ok if it was out of the weather?

Sue Stanley-Schaecher, all good except fabric holds moisture. The warmest & safest material is straw.

Awww, it’s getting cold at night. Anyway you can put a plastic container out and cut a hole in it. Gives them a dry place to bed down. I put them out for outside cats. I put them on my back patio. They seem to like clear containers where they can kinda see out. I duct tape bubble wrap half way up and on the bottom and top. This helps with keeping more warm. I also cut out a piece of styrofoam and put on the bottom l, to keep the ground chill from coming up so much. I put big towels in it to help keep them warm.
