Message from Finder

We found her walking in the road, she has a very calm demeanor. She was literally walking with no care about the cars and no one cared to slow down. We decided to take her in because I couldn’t bare the thought of her getting hit because I’d assume she would’ve went back home if she had one. She didn’t come to us at first but after some convincing we managed her to get her in the car. She’s friendly with my dogs here but definitely prefers human interaction. I will be getting her checked for a microchip and bathed as she is matted and covered in fleas. If no one is looking for her I am willing to keep her and get a full vet appointment for her.

Alana Reid you absolutely did the right thing don't listen to these idiots. I work in Great Pyrenees Rescue and I could sit here all night long and post picture after picture of Pyrenees hit by cars and horribly injured or killed that nobody wants to see. They truly deserve better than the crappy farm Home spreading them to death in the lousy owners who think it's okay for them to wander

Brenda Hodge Little I could sit here all day long and send you pictures of Pyrenees splattered on the roads and killed and so many horribly injured with missing limbs but that would keep you up all night like it keeps me up all night. It never ends well when they are left roaming it's not a matter of if they will be hit by a car and splattered on the road it's a matter of when. The mentality that it is okay to let Pyrenees wander because they are working dogs is needlessly and senselessly causing the deaths of thousands of these dogs each year. And the numbers have gone up so dramatically. At most shelters we are seeing a dozen or more Pyrenees in a week's time. And not a single garbage owner bothers to do the one thing that will save their lives and get them home again. A collar with a name tag and phone number on it or a microchip. Just because they are working dogs does not mean they should be left to Roam left out roaming with no ID just end up shot or splattered on the highway. Really really stupid comment if you knew the sad reality of how many Pyrenees die because of the crappy homes they end up in it would break your heart and most working dogs never see a vet a single day in their lives they've been bred to death on every farm and they truly deserve better. It is possible to keep them contained with occasional escapes but these owners could care less
