Create a scent station (items with your/your cat’s smell - unwashed bedding, clothing, cat tower, etc. Especially important if cat is in new/unfamiliar area. Do NOT put out litter pan as feces often used to mark territory and may inadvertently attract predators or territorial cats.). Check it often, especially when things are quiet (late evening/early morning). Leave the garage door open 5” overnight. Check nearby Ring/security cameras in the area. Check in and under everything inside and outside with a flashlight. Cats don’t usually go far and freeze in a tight ball in very small, tight, dark areas when scared. The flashlight catches their eyes’ stare, especially at night. Thoroughly check inside your home, especially if this is a new/shy/scared pet. Post on NextDoor app as it covers your local neighborhoods. Be sure to check your local animal shelter in person at least every other day (can’t stress enough - in person!!! You know your pet best plus animals constantly brought in). If your cat is not spayed/neutered, may be why it is “lost” and traveling further. Hope your pet is home safe and soon. (Note: if anyone asks for money or a code as “they have your pet,” this is a scam). https://www.pawboost.com/blog/7-effective-search-tips-for-finding-your-lost-cat/ https://petfbi.org/i-lost-a-cat/tips-to-lure-a-cat-back-home-2/

Sad seeing so many kitties call missing just this week. Poor baby, she must be so scared and hungry out on her own. When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. Look under yours & your neighbor’s bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call her early evening when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for her, too. They don’t go far 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud equipment. The challenge is to find her before she gets any further away. Please hang flyers near the area where she went missing, it’ll get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. Good luck finding this adorable little girl-this is coyote country. You’re the one that can bring her home safely, she will recognize your voice and your scent. Please check with SDHS Lost & Found daily, post on ND.

You can purchase a trap from Tractor Supply or Home Depot or Amazon or see if you can borrow or rent one from a local rescue or TNR group. Put a piece of your clothing with your scent on it inside and some wet food and set the trap and monitor it. I've seen many babies return home this way 🙏❣️ remember kitties are naturally nocturnal, so they will hide during the day and move at night time looking for a food source or trying to get home. This is when most of us are sleeping. That's why the trap is ideal. Monitor it early in the morning. If you catch a critter go ahead and release it and wash the trap and reset. They leave a smell behind which may deter your baby from going in. If you catch another kitty, you can always take it to a local vet or shelter for a free chip check and you might be able to help return someone else's missing baby home.♥️

Cats seldom go far from home. Search under bushes and ask neighbors to search their carports, garages & backyards. (Ask the Oziel’s - Jason & Jenna - if you can check their hedges by the sidewalk. They are over 10’ tall and thick. Their house is 3 or 4 houses west of Valley St on Tamarack. It is possibly behind Jeanne Pl.) If something spooked Roulette causing her to run she could just be hiding. Hope you find her soon.
