General Information: Indoor cats are usually close to home. Check any and all hiding places in your home - closets, under side of mattress. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.

I’m so sorry your fur baby is missing. I’m posting a few tips to to help you find her and I realize that perhaps you’ve already tried some of them. (But hopefully there’s still a point or two you’ll find helpful.) Please put her bed/blanket or an unwashed article of your clothing outside, the scent will help her find her way home. (Experienced rescues advise not to use soiled cat litter as it can attract predators and aggressive cats.) If she’s an indoor only kitty, she’s probably close but hiding. Check under the house, porches, and in sheds and garages, anywhere she may be trapped. Ask your neighbors to do the same. Ask them, too, to check their Ring cameras. If she’s not home by tonight, search under bushes and shrubs with a flashlight, her eyes will reflect the light and you'll be able to see her. Best time to search is late night and early morning when it’s most quiet outside. Call her name softly and gently shake a treat bag. Keep an entrance to your home, if it’s safe, in case she comes home during the night. Also post on Pawboost and Nextdoor , excellent additional resources that can assist you. If you can, put up fliers throughout your neighborhood and report her as missing to local vets. Finally, be sure to file a lost kitty report with your county shelter, Bonnie Hays Shelter 503-846-7041. Send a photo to them, if possible. Many people don’t use social media edia, so the shelters are often the first place they turn to. Last but not least, beware of lost pet scams. They appear to be on the increase these days. All my best wishes for a speedy reunion.
