Message from Owner

**🚨 LOST CAT – PLEASE HELP US FIND RAKU 🐾** Our beloved calico cat, **RAKU**, has been missing for about **16 hours**, and we're very worried. RAKU is a **2-year-old calico** who is **microchipped** and **spayed**. She is primarily an indoor cat, but we let her outside for a couple of hours each day. She has never wandered far from home and is almost always back within an hour, so it's very unusual for her to be gone this long. 📍**Last seen near Nanaimo & 12th Street, New Westminster, around 5:00 AM.** RAKU can be friendly, but she may be frightened and hiding. If you live nearby, please take a moment to check your **garages, sheds, crawl spaces, under decks, and anywhere a curious cat might have become trapped**. If you see RAKU or have any information, please **message me immediately**. Even a possible sighting could make all the difference. Please **share this post** with your friends, family, and neighbors in the New Westminster area to help bring RAKU home safely. We miss her so much and just want her back where she belongs. ❤️ **🐱 RAKU – 2 years old | Calico | Microchipped | Spayed** Thank you so much for keeping an eye out and for sharing this post. Every share increases the chances of bringing RAKU home. Contact:

A cat shouldn’t go outside, there are too many predators just waiting. I live in the west end of New Westminster and about five years ago there was a Bobcat in my yard. It was about 10 at night, in September and my cat was between the closed sliding door and the verticals, watching the world go by so to speak. All of a sudden there was a loud thump on the closed door and my cat screamed; I’ve never heard anything like it and hope I won’t hear it again. I rent an en-grade suite and don’t have control of the lights in the yard so could only see an outline of the animal. Once my cat settled down I took out a flashlight, leaving it on the counter and went to bed. About 1 in the early morning my cat screamed again; I jumped out of bed, grabbed the flashlight and there was a bobcat outside my door. He returned the following six nights, determined to get my cat. I finally went on line and learned they don’t like noise. I grabbed two cookie sheets and walked around the yard banging them together. We never saw him again. There is a 6ft fence around the yard and obviously he was able to jump over it. If you want to keep your cats safe, don’t let them outside!
