Message from Owner

Our beloved 4.5-year-old male orange tabby, Mr. Meow, went missing from our cul-de-sac in Niceville early Monday morning, July 20. He weighs about 12 pounds and is wearing a blue reflective collar with a bell.VERY DISTINCT FEATURE: He has a ringed orange and white striped tail that looks very similar to a raccoon's tail.He is an adventurous, confident indoor/outdoor cat who knows our neighborhood well but likely hunkered down deep in local brush or a neighbor's shed to escape the blustery weather from Tropical Storm Bertha. He may be hiding silently and refusing to call out.If you live in the Niceville area, please check your properties, under porches, or inside outbuildings. May be skittish with strangers but knows his name. If you spot him, hear his bell, or have any information, please contact us immediately.

My indoor only male black cat got out once. We put out all the scents. Old blankets, our unwashed clothes, his scratch post, his empty dirty litter box, vacuum dust etc. My nextdoor neighbor would see him trying to return during the day while we were at work. Then get scared and run off into nearby woods. I started setting my alarm for 3am while it was quiet and go out calling him. Finally after 5 days I heard him crying in very thick bushes Nextdoor to our house. I saw his eyes with my flashlight. I had to literally crawl to get him. He was like afraid to move. I finally got him . They usually don’t travel far. They will hunker down close by.
