Please help us found our beloved cat Panther. Pure black with green eyes and a small patch of white underneath near his bottom. He is skiddish toward people but if spotted please text immediately. There will be a reward for his recovery. He is very street smart and has not been home in a week and a half. He has never been gone more than 24 hours. Please , please help us find him.

Distribute flyers to entire neighborhood. And further out. Most cats are found within a 3-5 house radius. Indoor only cats are usually much closer hiding.

Tricia Lamberty, if Panther is well acquainted with the environment, perhaps he just needs some extra help getting home. I under stand it's been a couple of weeks, but this is what I suggest: once again, thoroughly search using a flashlight during the day and especially at dusk (when it's dark and quiet) to determine whether he’s ill or injured and hiding nearby, or stuck somewhere. Check every crack and crevice, look in outbuildings, containers, vehicles, under foundations, sheds and porches, into trees, etc. — call and listen carefully for Panther’s cries (he may alert you to his location). And it’s important to ask neighbors to do the same and make sure Panther didn’t hide and became trapped in a shed or garage, etc. Please see this list of step-by-step instructions developed to help others in this situation (click on the link) and let me know if you have questions. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10236753035464835&set=p.10236753035464835&type=3 In addition, this video explains the temperament and behavior of a lost cat — it may instill hope of finding Panther. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2eCoC63B9I Good luck. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Diana EllisThank you for taking the time to post these helpful tips. Panther is an indoor/outdoor cat and has never left his area in over 8 years. He is known by most neighbors and there have been no sightings. He has never been gone for more than a night and it’s been almost 2 weeks. We have been searching everywhere. He will let people pet him but not he does not like to be picked up unless he knows you well.

Panther is a beautiful black cat — I’m sorry he is lost. I'm a little confused -- you say he's skittish but street smart. Is Panther an escaped indoor cat or allowed outside? His familiarity with the environment will dictate how to find him. Escaped indoor cats usually hide close by but are too frightened to return or respond when called; while a cat that knows his way around may have become stuck somewhere and needs help getting home. I have recovered many lost cats and assisted others so if you tell me about Panther I can provide complete instructions that may help. Please understand an escaped cat may emerge when it's dark and quiet to sneak back inside — if you do just the right things. This usually happens within the first few nights so until I hear back from you please implement this strategy if Panther got out accidentally: tonight lay a familiar blanket or worn teeshirt flat on the doorstep — do not use a litter box, bed, trap, or anything conspicuous -- along with tempting food at his point of escape. Call him softly to provide a familiar sound and direction (he won't come on command) then watch from inside (DO NOT GO BACK OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT!) and if you see Panther approach and settle on the food be careful not to startle him. Slowly and quietly provide a clear path inside and he may put an end to the crisis himself. If you can't wait up set an alarm and watch again just before sunrise -- it's a popular time. And although some will suggest putting out kitty's litter box, experts say DON’T DO IT. I've never used one in all the times I've been successful recovering a lost cat. Please read this to learn more about why it's neither necessary nor recommended: https://www.facebook.com/notes/lost-cats-georgia/why-we-dont-recommend-putting-your-lost-cats-litter-box-outside/1101245526665296/

Cook chicken on the grill. Put catnip outside. Play YouTube videos of kittens crying and shine a laser cat toy around the bushes.
