You need to create scent trail. When my boy went missing for three days, my vet told me to put out his favorite bedding, toy, litter box cleaned, or not, preferably all in a fenced yard, or in the garage with the door up enough for the cat to get in. He also told me to put out a used pillowcase of the owner and some old shoes of the owner and my cat came home in three days. Cats are nocturnal so he’ll come out at night or in the darkness. During the day they sleep and hide.
