Rosie Female Dog

LOST PET ID: 71063716

Mesquite, TX 75181

Part chihuahua part terrier, mostly black, 9 years old, approx 11 lbs. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!! Last night someone called saying they were with Dallas Animal Services and that Rosie had been brought in. He said she had been hit by a car and was injured and needed immediate surgery to prevent her from being paralyzed permanently. If she did not have the surgery and was paralyzed, they would euthanize her. He said the vets are 3rd party and the total surgery would cost about $3100, but the vets require a deposit of $1800 before they will do the surgery. They wanted us to pay using Apple pay or Zelle. We asked if we could come see her to verify if she was ours and he said they were closed, so not until after the surgery. I asked for her chip # and he said, by law, they could not give me that information. But, I could give it to him and he could verify it, I did NOT do this. He said that if it turned out this was not our dog, we would get a refund. We told him he was a scammer and gave him no information. I called Dallas Animal Services today and was told they do not require any payment before medical procedures and they would gladly verify the chip.#. Please see article:

Frequently Asked Questions

I lost my pet. What should I do?

Take advantage of online platforms – they help you get the word out, quickly and easily. You can report your lost pet to PawBoost in no time flat. We’ll send an email alert to our local members, post to the PawBoost-powered Facebook page for your area, add your pet to our lost & found, and make a lost pet flyer – all for free.

Other sites that help you raise local awareness for your lost pet with minimal time and effort are Nextdoor.com – a PawBoost partner – and Craigslist. Both of these sites have very active lost & found sections mainly used for lost pets. We highly recommend you use these resources in addition to PawBoost!

Visit your local shelters and animal control agencies in person. Details can get lost in translation over the phone and that might lead to missed connection.

If chipped, make sure your pet’s microchip is registered and up to date. If you don’t know your pet’s chip manufacturer or number, your vet should be able to help locate this information.

Put up flyers and tell your neighbors to be on the lookout. The more you engage the Dallas community, the better your chances of a happy reunion!
