FOUND DOG TIPS Thank you for helping this dog!🐾❤️ I am sure YOU have saved its life by helping!🙏🐾❤️ **THINK LOST 🛑 NOT STRAY!** Please get proof of ownership before turning the pet over (vet records, pictures etc.) Please walk around and check with with neighbors first! (1) Contain the pet so it is safe from danger and escaping. (2) Scan for microchip (vet, shelters, area pet stores) should do it for free (3) Notify animal control ITS THE LAW TO DO THIS (file a found report on the Found area do not have to turn in but file ) OWNERS will CHECK there first. If you can’t contain, please ask them to pick up or take to shelter, much safer there than on streets. (4) ADS: Craigslist, www.lostmydoggie.com (free listing) it will send a fax blast to the closest vets, shelters in your area, Facebook (Lost and Found Sites, search ones for your County, your city and states sites like these but there are others: https://www.facebook.com/groups/769692416445474/), and this says dogs but they post all pets) https://www.facebook.com/LostFoundDogs.NC/ Nextdoor.com, (be sure to use the universal option to share pet post everywhere) trianglelostpets.org, pawboost.com, http://petharbor.com/, Petango.com, https://www.helpinglostpets.com/ Newspaper (5) Contact local vets, groomers, pet stores, local rescues (6) Hang & Pass out Flyers, give to mail carrier! Use this Flyer template here: https://search.petfbi.org/flyer.html Go to local and surrounding post offices and see if you can put Flyers up so all carriers in area are aware! (7) Check out the lost and found sites, craiglist etc to see if you see the pet Do not rehome the pet, there is a legal stray hold. Check with Animal Control on the timeline. Maybe you can ask the storage company if they have any video of which way he came from? Thank you for taking care of this baby. Yes please require proof of ownership meaning older vet, bills, and pictures that is not this one !!🙏🐾🙏

Beautiful. I‘m sure you know but please make sure anyone that claims ownership can prove it. People can be so cruel to innocent animals. Thank you for helping!
