Found/Stray Dog in Clovis, CA 93611

Description

Sable colored corgi with white paws. One missing fang. Very friendly. All behavior indicates an escaped pet. Appears to be older. Found this female corgi in Clovis on Dry Creek Trail next to Ruessel Ave and on the other side of the canal Marion Ave on Friday 9/12. She was trying to get into multiple of the neighborhoods north of Nees. She started following us with our dog. Initially skittish at first, but eventually wanted to be right with us. She really looked like she needed help so I got a leash on her and brought her back to our hse. Kept her out back that night with food, water, and a bed. Saturday morning we got her cleaned up. Her stomach and chest was covered in burs. We pulled, cut and shaved out all the burs. Got rid of a lot of the fur matting. Discovered she had a few abscesses, multiple small wounds (some from grass seed getting into her skin). Noticed she had was appeared to be severe bloating. At that point we decided to get her to the vet and get her checked out. Full screening, bloodwork, xray, ect. Luckily she is mostly healthy! The bloating was partially from being fat, and partially from her colon being absolutely stuffed! Turns out she has arthritis of the spine right in the middle which has been causing her pain. When dogs are in pain, especially the spine, they tend to not poop because the position is difficult. She also had some exposure to flea and tick viruses that her body was successfully fighting off. So we got some pain medication, some anti-inflammatory meds, and pest meds. We took her back , gave her the meds and bathed her thoroughly. She stayed inside that night. Now it is Sunday and we are getting ready to go post flyers in the neighborhoods near where we found her. I've already registered her with Clovis Animal Services, Fresno Humane, posted on Nextdoor, PawBoost, Petco Love Lost, and attempted a few more Facebook groups. Her being in such good health, having some fat, and being the most absolutely sweet and well behaved dog has reassured us that this is clearly an escaped lost dog, not an abandonment. Any help in finding the owner is greatly appreciated!
