Lost Pet Some helpful ways to help find a Lost Pet: 1-Search as soon as possible!!! Ask your friends and family to help in the search, too! Search in your car, and on foot too within 1-2 miles radius of the location last seen. Please ask your neighbors, friends, family, or anyone that will help to form a search party, and fan out and search in the vicinity lost. Look around bodies of water, culverts, tree lines, under decks, cars, brush, or anywhere your pet could have wandered. Hopefully she/he hasn't gotten too far. 2-Put out some toys, or something with their scent or your scent like clothing, or her dog bed outside your house. Maybe your pet will smell it. 3-Ask your neighbors if they have seen your dog and ask if it would be okay to look around their property with their permission. 4-Check your security cameras if you have them and ask your neighbors to check their security cameras and trail cameras as well for sightings. Also check with businesses nearby where you think your pet went missing. They may be able to check their cameras as well. 5-Please share to every local Lost Pet Facebook page in your area, as well as your own timeline, and ask them to share. Put exactly where they were lost. Road, city, state, date, and your contact number with the most up to date picture of your pet. ( For your safety, don't put your exact address, but at least the road, city, state, and date missing. ) Share to your Facebook timeline and all lost pet sites in your area, and other social media sites as well. Some people forget certain information like city and state or area. It is critical when trying to get your pet back to include specific information, otherwise it is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and people are less likely to share if they don’t have all the details. 6-Notify animal shelters and local vet offices in your area. 7-Post on Nextdoor. 8-Make flyers. Put up flyers around the town lost as well as the shelters and vet offices. In addition to flyers, put up large, eye catching NEON poster board signs up asap around stop signs and intersections within a 2 mile radius where your pet was lost or last seen. This is so important!!! Please also put one in your yard. Some people don't have social media, and the poster boards are easier to see than flyers. Make sure you include a description of the animal, and exact road/location last seen with city and state, a good phone number to reach you. Include a picture if you have one. You can get the supplies like the poster boards, and black wide markers at the Dollar Tree. The eye-catching neon signs are very important, because someone may have picked up your baby thinking that it is lost. You may have to get creative on how to out up the poster board signs. They sell wooden and metal stakes at Walmart and Lowes in the yard sale sign section. You may want to bring a staple gun too. (You want to do this asap too, because someone may have picked your baby up, and if they pass by they will surely see it. PLUS, a lot of people do not have social media. ) *Recruit friends and family to make posters at the same time people are searching. 9-Consider contacting a search organization on Facebook, but be really careful of scammers. Unfortunately, they love to prey on people’s misfortune on these lost pet sites, so do your research first. Beware of scammers that want you to contact them. Most of these are are all scams: Example: "Contact ____ ____ ____ now @ ***-***-**** and they will help you! I don't know what I would have done without them. They helped me so much to find my dog. Call them now, or click the link below! " -------------------------------————— I am not trying to overwhelm you with information, but all of this is really important to help find your baby. The first thing to do is search on foot and in car. Mornings, dusk, and during the day. Try to get a map and grid out places you have to search, or have searched. Try to recruit friends, family, neighbors if they can help and search together in a 1-2 mile radius to begin with. Be sure to look everywhere a little dog can be. You may want to bring their toys, some of your smelly clothes, and smelly food like canned dog food, plain Burger King burgers, treats, something to secure them with like a crate. Be careful dogs can “alligator roll” out of leashes, or harnesses when scared. You may want to bring a puppy fence along if you are able to get the dog so you can catch it. Put phones on low tone or vibrate mode. These are just some suggestions. There are other things to do asap, and I have listed those in another comment, but someone can do some things and some can do other things at the same time. I try to help people with the knowledge I have learned over the years from others to help reunite people with their pets. I love dogs so much, and I would want someone to help me. I hope this helps and I hope you find your baby.🙏🏻♥️🐾 REMEMBER, DO NOT DELAY SEARCHING! --Remember searching in the area last seen as soon as possible within 1-2 mile radius on foot and in car. Ask your neighbors to help search as well. Post on local lost pet sites on social media, contacting and checking shelters, calling chip company to alert them, notifying local vets, and putting up signage. Remember to put up large, eye-catching, neon poster board signs at intersections within search area. Someone can make signs, while others search. Don't rely solely on social media, because there are a lot of people that do not have it, that could have picked up your dog. Have your friends and family help you search. I'm praying that you find your beautiful baby. 🙏🏻🐾
