Dolamite Male Cat
REUNITED PawBoost ID: 72946394
Oakland, CA 94610
Thank you for all the support and advice from people who left comments. Comment specifically told me to make flyers print out big Flyers put them everywhere make little flyers and hand them out and I happened to leave one last wire in front of this one apmt building and that's where he ended up! One of the tenants in that building saw him he was emaciated the person gave him some food and told their neighbor about it . Their neighbor had seen the flyer and went back out front to get the phone number off the flyer. When she called me it had been 43 days since he had gone missing. He was down to 5lbs! -he was between 10-15lbs before. Took him to the vet they checked him out and we had already read about refeeding syndrome. If your pet is gone for a long time you cannot feed them normal amount, they could die from it. Luckily Dolamite survived and he's doing better everyday. This is actually my neighbor/friend's cat. He is elderly and in a wheelchair and this is his full time companion, his best friend. He was devastated for 43 days. I brought him home, holding him close to me. When I knocked on his door another neighbor was walking through and saw me. Shocked, she exclaimed "you found the cat!!" My wife came out from our apmt as well and the three of us were standing there with him money open the door and immediately burst into tears. It was a beautiful moment. Thank you Pawboost for the platform you provide. I check every email now from Pawboost to keep an eye out for others who may be missing. If it's been over 2 weeks don't give up hope yet. Another thing I would was most indoor cats are found within 600 ft of their home. Search far and wide much further than that. He ended up being 300 ft from his door two properties down the street.
