Thank you to anyone who hoped or prayed for him. He was across the road and a few hses down hiding out in the back yard, and the homeowner called Animal Control this afternoon. They were parked out in front on my hse checking with neighbors and I saw the truck and went out to see what as going on. Thankfully he is safe, uninjured, and mostly just very tired. This happened once before and I was not sure I would get this lucky again. To the person who said “please don’t give up”, that was especially helpful.

Thanks everyone for sharing. She came home on her own. She had an injured paw but could have been heat related. She drank a bowl of water and slept like a log. Seemed pretty self-satisfied with her walkabout. It's the first time in five years that she did that.

Lariat (“Larry”) is a small female Cowboy Corgi (Welsh Corgi / Australian Cattle Dog mix) weighing approximately 10–13 lbs with a slim, athletic build and short legs typical of a corgi mix. She has a compact body with a narrow waist rather than a stocky build. She has a short-to-medium length double coat that is smooth along her back with slightly fluffier fur around her neck, chest, ears, and tail. Her coat pattern is a distinctive black, white, and tan tricolor with heavy blue heeler-style speckling/ticking. She has a mostly black “saddle” covering her back and upper sides, while her chest, lower legs, neck, and underside are primarily white with black and gray speckling/freckling. Her face is highly distinctive with a white blaze running down the center of her forehead and muzzle that contains black/gray freckles. She has black coloring around the top of her face and ears with tan markings over her eyes, cheeks, and sides of her muzzle. Her nose is solid black. Larry’s most recognizable feature is her extremely large upright ears, which stand fully erect and are oversized in proportion to her head. The inside of the ears are tan while the outer edges are black. She has dark brown eyes and a narrow fox-like muzzle. Her tail is medium length with a noticeable white tip and is usually carried straight or slightly curved upward. Her legs are short with speckled/freckled fur extending down into her paws. She is very timid and skittish around strangers and may run if approached.
