Omgosh!!!! Its 3 a.m in morning. I didnt see video a young lady had posted that her mom video'd Gerty running down lake road earlier. I know from helping other people and my own dogs, They stay in same area usually. But....you cant drive and call them out window. After seeing video knowing she still on same road, I couldnt wait. Got up 21 minutes after midnight. Got up put shoes on w pjs, flashlight and her best 4 leg friend. We drove about 15 min there. Parked near end of road 4 way stop heading toward school. omg that hill about killed me. I called kinda low, said all the things she knows, places, food, people. "Treats" , I sd alot. Didnt want to scare her w flashlite. Then here came my other dog....Nooo, a skunk got him right in face. Rascal started chasing us! Lol!! As we got close to Water Towers at intersection, my heart started getting a lil heavy. So turned around headed back an sd, I will come back in morning. Beautiful homes on road. As we was passing one I kept FL on, bcse I didnt want to get sprayed by Rascal. Still no cars came by. Thank goodness. Then I seen glowy eyes.. I sd mite be skunk....then it wld stop and start again. I sd Gerty??!! It came lil faster, I sd Gerty??!! And then there ws my other dog too. I just got on my knees and whispered yelled Gerty Girl!! That lil muffinhead hit me, knock me clean dwn on my back!! Didnt realize I could still bend like that! I couldnt get a breath. Gert, All in my face. I sd, GERT? WE GOTTA GO!! WE GOT SKUNKS, A CAR MITE COME BY, IT FELT LIKE A SAUNA. I GOT UP AND TRIED TO START JOGGING BACK TO CAR. DOWN HILL NOW. YAY! GERTY KEPT COMING BACK FOR MORE HAPPY LOVIN. I CARRIED HER FOR A MINUTE. GOT IN CAR, SHE STOOD ON CONSOLE, BUD IN BACK HOME TO GOAT MILK, FRESH FOOD, GOOD BATH, MORE LOVE AND IM CRASHING. IM GOING TO GIVE PAW BOOST DONATION. AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF PEOPLE THT POSTED VIDEO A DONATION TO THEM ALSO. THAT VIDEO TRIGGERED ME TO GO! SHE IS STILL THERE. ANIMALS DOGS AND CATS, MOST ALL DONT HAVE LONG LIVES. THIS IS THEIR ONLY LIFE. ONCE ITS GONE, ITS GONE FOREVER... God gives us a chance to be resurrected. To a better life... Please everyone, love them babies. Treasure them. They love us unconditionaly. Humans wont even do that to each other. I Thank Paw Boost and Everyone with kind words and thoughts. Will come back post her safe an sound pic. Peace, everyone
