Charley Male Cat

LOST PET ID: 70099981

Richmond, VA 23226

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce the passing of my baby Charley. I posted him missing last week. I finally found him today and he had already past. The closure is something I needed bc I would have NEVER stopped looking for him. We think he may have had a mental episode and just was unable to get after being out. He had been acting a tad off for about a month or so and had an appt for the vet soon. Since Thursday of last week I have been up at all hours, walking, calling, setting traps, talking to people (some really super nice people) and worrying. Last night while I was out walking, late when it was very quiet, I just had this feeling. It was a feeling that I did not want to own, or even acknowledge until I found him this evening with the help of another pet lover. Tonight, with the love and support of Roxanne (my BFF) and my sister Tiffany Goodwyn I was able to lay him to rest and we were able to say our goodbyes. I cannot thank everyone enough who looked for him, gave me advice, encouraged me to keep up the great work, rode around on bikes looking (yes some young ladies I met were helping me out), shared my post, etc. So much love for animals it makes my heart happy to see so many of you are just like me. I never had children so my cats are my babies which makes this is a very tragic loss for me however he is , he has been laid to rest, he is no longer scared, or in pain. He is with my Mom and Dad and all my other fur babies. I truly believe I will see them again when it is my time to go. Until then I will miss him dearly and continue to love his sister, who I still have and help her go when it is her time. The only time they break your heart is when their hearts stop. My uncle Michael Lessing told me that, and boy is it true. Until we meet again Charley, rest easy my buddy. UPDATE 3/17/24- SPOTTED at 1712 Rockwood, 9:45pm. Prob scared and hidding NEVER been up this far on that road. Will be going back out when it gets quiet and setting a trap tonight. Wish me LUCK! Missing cat Charley got out around 3:30pm and has not come back. He is elderly (18) orange and white. I last spotted him around 7:45pm in a yard of a hse that is the last hse off Skipwith near Anoka and 64. He ran from me, I think he was scared b/c it was getting dusk and he could not hear me over the traffic or smell me, he was too far off. If you see him please do not chase, call me, I have a spam blocker on my phone so if you cannot get me leave me a VM or text me with location. He is a bonded brother of a sister I have. He is very missed. I am still hoping he will come back but.... He is an orange and white tabby and has a pretty distinctive heart on one side of his body. He will not come when called, has no collar b/c he breaks out of them but he IS CHIPPED! Reward if found! Below are some photos for reference, Charley working out, ok not so much, with me and Charley and his bonded sister Bella. Thanks for reading.

Small like an older kitten- she’s actually a 12 year-old gray + white tuxedo kitty. She’s shy + spry. She loves to be outside and likes to jump in cars. She may act friendly, then bite or scratch for seemingly no reason.

I lost my pet. What should I do?

Take advantage of online platforms – they help you get the word out, quickly and easily. You can report your lost pet to PawBoost in no time flat. We’ll send an email alert to our local members, post to the PawBoost-powered Facebook page for your area, add your pet to our lost & found, and make a lost pet flyer – all for free.

Other sites that help you raise local awareness for your lost pet with minimal time and effort are Nextdoor.com – a PawBoost partner – and Craigslist. Both of these sites have very active lost & found sections mainly used for lost pets. We highly recommend you use these resources in addition to PawBoost!

Visit your local shelters and animal control agencies in person. Details can get lost in translation over the phone and that might lead to missed connection.

If chipped, make sure your pet’s microchip is registered and up to date. If you don’t know your pet’s chip manufacturer or number, your vet should be able to help locate this information.

Put up flyers and tell your neighbors to be on the lookout. The more you engage the community, the better your chances of a happy reunion!
